Pickup, airport cargo & delivery questions

How do I collect this 24 inch dagdusheth style ganpati murti lightweight paper murti — do you ship it?+

We do not use regular home couriers for clay murtis because they are too fragile. You can collect your murti in person from one of our pickup points across Northern Virginia — Ashburn, Reston, Herndon, Chantilly and Leesburg — plus Washington DC, Ellicott City MD, Atlanta GA, Chicago IL and Seattle WA. If you cannot visit a pickup point, we can now deliver to your nearest cargo-enabled airport using United Airlines Cargo. Message us on WhatsApp and we will share the best option and timing.

Where are your pickup points in Virginia and the DMV?+

Our Virginia pickup points cover Ashburn, Reston, Herndon, Chantilly and Leesburg, with Washington DC and Ellicott City (MD) close by. We also serve Atlanta (GA), Chicago (IL) and Seattle (WA). Tell us your city on WhatsApp and we will confirm the nearest pickup point and timing.

Is there any shipping or delivery charge?+

Pickup is always free — the price you see is for the murti, collected at a pickup point. United Airlines Cargo airport delivery is quoted separately based on the receiving airport and murti size; message us on WhatsApp for a cargo estimate.

How do I book a pickup time or airport cargo delivery?+

Place your order, then message us on WhatsApp with the murti name and your city. We will confirm either a pickup point and time slot, or the nearest United Cargo receiving airport and cost, usually within the same day. During Ganesh Chaturthi week we open extra pickup slots.

Is this murti eco-friendly and water-soluble?+

Every murti is made from natural shadu clay with non-toxic, water-soluble colours — no plaster of Paris. It dissolves cleanly during visarjan, at home in a bucket or in a community immersion tank.

How do I immerse this murti at home, and how long does it take to dissolve?+

Fill a bucket or tub with clean water, lower the murti in gently after the final aarti, and let the clay soften on its own. Small and mid-size murtis usually dissolve in about 20–60 minutes with an occasional gentle stir; larger murtis take a little longer. No hammering or cutting is needed.

What do I do with the clay water after visarjan?+

Pour it into your garden, a flower bed or a tulsi pot. The shadu clay is just river silt and the colours are lead-free and water-soluble, so it is completely safe for soil and plants — many families grow a plant from their Bappa's visarjan water each year.

Who makes these Ganpati murtis?+

They are handcrafted by master artisan families in Pen, Maharashtra — the town known worldwide for Ganpati murti making — and brought to our pickup points so you get an authentic Pen murti in the USA.

How is the murti protected until I collect it?+

Each idol is wrapped in soft padding and kept boxed at the pickup point until handover, so it reaches you exactly as the artisan finished it. For United Cargo airport delivery we use the same careful packing inside a sturdy cargo crate. Please check the murti at pickup — we will replace it on the spot if anything is not right.
